An Interactive Presentation of Works and Residency Reflections by Fiyin Koko
Join us at G.A.S. Lagos for Story Story, an interactive presentation of works and residency reflections by Fiyin Koko. Framed as a journey through storytelling, play, and imagination, the session explores how time spent at the G.A.S. Farm House in Ikise, thinking, observing, and creating, shaped the clay works developed during her residency. Drawing from folklore, childlike wonder, and encounters with local children, animals, and the surrounding environment, Fiyin reflects on how these experiences informed her process and material choices.
Rather than a conventional talk, the session centres on interaction. Attendees will be invited to touch and handle selected clay works, engaging with them as tactile stories rather than static objects. The presentation will conclude with an open Q&A and a gentle circulation of pieces, allowing participants to respond to the works at their own pace.

About Fiyin Koko
Fiyin Koko (b. 1994) is a multidisciplinary Nigerian artist whose practice is rooted in womanism, storytelling, and the reimagining of narratives that place women at the centre of their own worlds. Self-taught, her artistic journey began in childhood, inspired by watching her mother paint. Working across mixed-media painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and digital illustration, she draws from six guiding pillars: womanism, conversation, body positivity, movement, love, and femininity. Her work blends fantasy, her signature use of blue, and elements of artivism to create immersive visual stories that explore memory, identity, and the everyday experiences of women.
